The 80 ball bingo game is relatively new to the world of bingo, and it also the least common – expect to see one 80 ball bingo game for every 5-10 75 ball bingo games, depending on the time of day. As the name suggest, this game uses 80 balls numbered from 1 to 80.
Tickets
The 80 ball bingo ticket is made up of a 4 x 4 grid of numbers. Unlike 75 ball bingo, every square will have a number printed on it.
Just like with the other bingo games, the numbers are automatically marked off as they are called.
Game Types
What makes 80 ball bingo different to the other types of bingo game (other than the number of balls), is the fact that the aim of each game can be different depending on what prize structure it is paying out. Some of the games are relatively short – offering a faster gaming experience than found in 75 or 90 ball bingo versions.
Usually the games rotate between the types listed below. Where games have more than one payout, the prize fund is staggered, increasing as you reach the jackpot (eg: one line pays the least, and the full house pays the most).
Single Line
There is only one prize in this game, which is won by completing any line. This line can be horizontal or vertical (ie: a row or a column), or it can run diagonally from corner to corner. Also, despite the name, you can also win by completing all four corners, or the four corner squares.
Line & House
The Line & House game has two prizes – one for any line and one for a full house (where all 16 numbers have been matched). As with the ‘Single Line’ game, the line can be a row, column, diagonal, corners or middle squares.
4 Lines
The 4 line game has 4 prizes on offer – one each for matching one column, two columns, three columns and finally four columns (a full house). Unlike the previous two games, only the vertical columns count towards the win but it does not matter which columns you complete.
House
In the final 80 ball game type, there is only one prize. This prize goes to the player who either manages to complete a full house (known as a ‘coverall’), or who manages to make a specified pattern. The aim of any particular the game will be clearly started in its info box.
