Top Ten Bingo winner had her prize denied

A row has erupted between Top Ten Bingo and Lynsey Dickinson, a player at the bingo hall who thought she had won the £5,000 prize that was showing on the screen. Unfortunately, the Top Ten Bingo winner had her prize denied. Rarely do you find such conflicts when using online bingo sites and perhaps this is because bingo sites use more advanced technology, than that used in bingo halls.
Lynsey was playing bingo at the Top Ten Bingo hall when she won. When she went to claim her prize, she was given £1,000 with bosses claiming there was an error on the screen. A member of staff had even signed a document a Prize Winner’s document for £5,000 but the bingo hall bosses stuck to their guns. It is no wonder that online bingo sites are taking over bingo halls in the popularity stakes. Regardless of who is right in this incident, it simply shouldn’t happen and almost certainly wouldn’t happen when using online bingo sites. Lynsey has complained to the Gambling Commission.
While we accept that errors occur at times, even when using online bingo sites, mistakes such as these are as much down to human error as they are to technology. When using online bingo sites, the whole gaming process from the front end is entirely based on technology, however with bingo halls, a screen showing the prize for any game is displayed as well as being announced by staff. This error should have been noticed by the staff working in the hall before the game. If any kind of error is experienced with internet bingo sites, the bosses of such bingo sites are usually keen to resolve issues quickly and fairly.
For many of us, using internet bingo sites will be the way we choose to play bingo for many years, and with errors like this in bingo halls, the use of internet bingo sites is only destined to increase.
