Smoking ban to be reviewed

Smoking Ban

It is no secret that the smoking ban that was implemented by the last government in 2007 has crippled businesses such as pubs and bingo halls while online bingo sites have strived. There are as many as 39 pubs closing per week and 130 bingo halls that have closed since the ban and many more are still struggling financially and Gala Bingo is one of these. There is light at the end of tunnel though as the welcome news comes that the smoking ban is to be reviewed as soon as the autumn.

Many small bingo halls have suffered causing closures since the ban came into place, causing people to turn to online bingo sites, but of the larger more well known ones, Gala Bingo is one which seems to have come off worst. Buckingham Bingo is another who had to restructure the business not so very long ago and this also meant some closures, so this news will come as great relief to both Gala Bingo and Buckingham Bingo.

Bingo sites have obviously had an effect on bingo halls but it is thought that the smoking ban caused the most devastating blow and whilst both Gala Bingo and Buckingham Bingo both have online bingo sites of their own too, the traditional hall is what they are best known for.

The head of the Bingo Association has stated that there must be better ways of implementing such a ban, so it seems that despite bingo halls struggling and paving the way for the success of online bingo sites, the bingo industry in general is not completely against restrcitions of some kind.

We are well into the summer now, so it is not long to wait until we find out the details of the pending review. In the meantime players who have lost their bingo halls due to closures can enjoy a great bingo experience by playing online bingo sites while they wait for the outcome of the forthcoming review.
