Mecca Bingo hall bans epilepsy sufferer

The struggle that has faced land based bingo halls over the past couple of years or so has been very prominent. You would think that these halls would be grateful for every customer that they can get and would do their best to hold on to them in their bid to survive in a very uncertain economic future. The news that a Mecca Bingo hall bans an epilepsy sufferer will leave many shocked and possibly quite angry as they read the detail of this incredible story. Laura Richards was banned from her local Mecca Bingo hall in Beeston after she suffered an epileptic fit during a game.
After developing epilepsy shortly after birth Laura has been unable to work or drive and her weekly visit to her local Mecca Bingo hall was only form of socialising. Although Laura takes medication to control her seizures, she can suffer to three or four a week. However, she lives alone which indicates that her condition is well managed.
After suffering attacks on several occasions, Mecca Bingo has asked Laura to visit the hall with her carer, but she continued to visit alone. After her last attack, Mecca Bingo decided to ban her claiming that it was for the safety of Mecca Bingo staff and customers.
This is simply something that would not happen when using online bingo sites, but this may not be an option for Laura. As we all know, flashing lights etc can trigger epileptic seizures and playing at bingo sites online may create a problem for her. In the meantime Laura rarely leaves her home now that she no longer has her visits to Mecca Bingo, so her social interaction with other people is minimal.
We feel sure that there is another land based bingo hall that would welcome Laura to play bingo with them but if not, then maybe it may be possible to find some online bingo sites that Laura is able to use without aggravating her condition.
