Is social networking the way?

If you are an avid player of internet bingo and play at many different bingo sites, you may have noticed that some have started introducing a touch of social networking. But is social networking the way to bring bingo players together or is it just a gimmick to make the site look and feel different?

Until recently, most bingo sites that have wanted to give a meeting place to their members have done this in the way of forums, although there are still many that do not have anywhere for there players to get together and have a chat and a gossip apart from their bingo chat rooms. But more recently, I have noticed that some sites are introducing Twitter, blogs and Facebook to their sites. But is there really a place for these kind of gimmicks in the world on internet bingo? Have any of you ever tried using them and do they have any benefit to you? How many of you have received a post on your facebook wall from a site that you have added and actually read it and gained some kind of benefit from it. These are some of the questions to ask yourself if you are joining a site and the social aspect of playing bingo is important to you, as you may not always be getting what you are looking for.

It is appreciated that online bingo sites are constantly looking for ways to make themselves stand out from all the rest, however it is important that whichever direction they choose to take, it must be of a benefit to the players and something that they are interested in and like. However, do these things really benefit the world of online bingo? There have to be some doubts when anything new is added, but whether any doubts will fade as time goes on with this latest trend is something that we will know in time.
