Checkout worker wins the National Lottery
9th December 2010 9:10 AM

The one good thing about any lottery is that the winners are often ordinary hardworking people with a simple lifestyle and the news that a checkout worker wins the National Lottery could be a better example of this. Sue Stebbings from Lowestoft in Suffolk, won a share worth more than £5 million of the National Lottery double rollover jackpot that was won on 1st December draw. She purchased her winning lucky dip ticket from the Asda store at which she works.

Although Sue has chosen to take a year out from her job after winning the National Lottery, she still vows to return back to work and carry on using her staff discount card. So far she has kept a cool head regarding her National Lottery win having spent £1,200 on a break to Tenerife and just over £6 on a shirt and tie for her husband.
So far Sue and her husband have planned to use the fantastic National Lottery win to pay off their mortgage on their three bed detached house and make the lives of their son and daughter more secure. They have chosen not to spend any of this National Lottery win on new cars and feel that buying a car that is about a year old is better value for money.
One thing we can be sure of is that the Stebbings will be celebrating a normal family Christmas this year. Maybe a few more presents will be found under the tree, but despite the National Lottery windfall, they will enjoy a free turkey and the trimmings will all come from Asda.
The next National Lottery draw will take place on Saturday but unfortunately there is no double roll over jackpot up for grabs this time. However, those who do decide to buy a lottery ticket, will still have the chance to win a cool £2.5 million.
