Bingo on TV

Bingo news

For months we have been switching on our TV sets and finding  more bingo sites advertising on TV. We have  seen that many sponsorships for some of our favourite programmes come from online bingo sites too. There have got to be questions asked as to whether the bingo industry is at risk of burning itself out by putting its eggs in too many baskets by offering bingo on TV.

Now that we are in the stages of the digital switchover, people are getting access to more TV channels. The bingo industry seems to have seen this as an opportunity to expand with more  bingo themed game shows coming to our screens of late. With the demise of so many bingo halls,  it’s obvious that nothing lasts forever. We all acknowledge that the introduction of internet bingo sites played a part in the downfall of bingo halls. But is there room for bingo on TV and internet bingo sites? Will bingo on TV cause online bingo sites to struggle? Probably not, but it could cause people to feel that bingo is taking over as the main source of entertainment. Making them feel that they no long want to turn on the TV or play on internet bingo sites, because bingo is everywhere and boredom may set in.

With the news that Endemol UK are to partner Virtue Fusion, the UK’s leading gaming software providers, it stands to reason that this partnership will produce more bingo themed game shows, allowing bingo sites who run on Virtue Fusion, such as Mecca Bingo, bet365 Bingo, Paddy Power Bingo and Sky Bingo, to expand their gaming to TV based game shows. Some bingo sites have already branched into this.

Internet bingo sites are the most popular way to play bingo at the moment and its current popularity will probably see it dominate the market for a long time, but is bingo on TV able to take over the internet bingo sites popularity or will people get bored with bingo as a whole?
